The Escambia County Board of County Commissioners is seeking Escambia County residents interested in volunteering to be considered for an appointment to the Escambia County Merit System Protection Board.

The Florida Department of Transportation will begin work Tuesday, Jan. 3 on a $2.6 million project to resurface Navy Boulevard (State Road (S.R.) 295), from north of the Bayou Grande Bridge to Gulf Beach Highway/Barrancas Avenue (S.R. 292).
With the National Weather Service advising extremely cold temperatures and windy conditions for Escambia County, residents are encouraged to exercise caution and utilize cold weather safety tips beginning Monday, Dec. 19, through the Christmas weekend.
On Thursday, Dec. 15, Escambia County was approved for $14.2 million in funding toward OLF-8 in Beulah by Triumph Gulf Coast after a unanimous 7-0 vote by the Triumph board of directors.
