Escambia County Completes Chemstrand Road Pedestrian Improvement Project | Escambia County

On Nov. 22, 2022, Escambia County officially completed the Chemstrand Road Pedestrian Improvement Project. The project spanned 617 days and has provided enhanced pedestrian safety between Nine Mile Road and Ten Mile Road.

Escambia County began construction on the Chemstrand Road Pedestrian Improvement Project on March 15, 2021. Since then, crews have worked to create 5,464 linear feet of sidewalk, repaved approximately 3,986 feet of asphalt, and installed reinforced concrete drainage pipes along the northbound and southbound directions of Chemstrand Road.

The engineer of record was David W. Fitzpatrick, PE, PA, while the contractor of the project was Site & Utility, LLC. The construction engineering and inspection was accomplished by HDR, Inc. In total, the cost of the project was $2,446,577.21.
