Escambia Consortium Home-ARP Allocation Plan Public Meeting Sept. 26

On Monday, Sept. 26, 2022, at 5:30 pm, the Escambia Consortium, comprised of Escambia County, the City of Pensacola, Santa Rosa County and the City of Milton, Florida, has scheduled a public meeting to be held in the Brownsville Community Center (3200 W. Desoto St., Pensacola, FL 32505) seeking community input regarding the allocation of federal funds received through the HOME-ARP grant program.

In 2021 Congress appropriated a portion of the American Rescue Plan (ARP) funds to be administered through the HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) to perform four activities that are to benefit individuals of specified qualifying populations. The eligible activities for funding under the grant include1) the development or rehabilitation of rental housing; 2) supportive service; 3) tenant based rental assistance; and, 4) the acquisition and development of non-congregate shelter. The primary beneficiaries of HOME-ARP funded activities are to be individuals within certain qualifying populations. Those include individuals currently experiencing homelessness or at risk of being homeless; those fleeing or attempting to flee domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, or human trafficking; households at greatest risk of housing instability; and veterans and families that include a veteran family member that meet the criteria for one of the qualifying populations described above.

If you are hearing and/or visually impaired, and/or may need any special assistance, please call for arrangement at 850-595-4947. Requests must be made at least 72 hours in advance of the event in order to allow the county to provide the requested services.

For additional information on this matter, please call the Escambia County Neighborhood Enterprise Division at 850-595-0022.
