Tina Arroyo Receives July Employee of the Month

8

Escambia County is pleased to recognize Tina Arroyo, a Director’s Aide in the Purchasing department, as the July Employee of the Month. The board recognized Tina’s selection during the July 14 BCC meeting.

Tina began her career with Escambia County on June 23, 2020, working in County Administration. During her time in County Administration, Tina served in several different roles and excelled in each assignment given to her. A quick learner with acute attention to detail, Tina quickly learned the ins and outs of County Administration and was instrumental in assisting with cross-training employees to ensure a seamless transition between staff. As the main point of contact for county public records requests, Tina often worked with members of the community to ensure their public records requests were filled in a timely and accurate manner.

In April 2022, Tina was promoted from Citizen Services Coordinator in County Administration to Director’s Aide in Purchasing. With the support of both departments, Tina not only took on the new position with innovation and drive, but also continued to assist in training new staff in County Administration who would replace her role as Citizen Services Coordinator. As the Director's Aide, Tina serves as the liaison between the Purchasing department and county departments, citizens, and vendors to maintain cooperative and efficient relations for the department. Tina is also responsible for coordinating meetings with internal and external agencies, preparing documents for meetings and hearings, and reviewing departmental communication to respond to inquiries. She serves everyone with a smile and provides extraordinary customer service each time.

When asked about Tina’s greatest strengths, staff have praised Tina's warm personality and talent for building relationships. She goes out of her way to make friends with those in other departments and becomes an invaluable resource for them. Tina also regularly refers potential candidates for open positions to bring exceptional talent to other county departments.

“No task is too big or too small for Tina," said Jeffrey Lovingood, Deputy Purchasing Manager. "She is a superstar with a can-do attitude. Tina's dedication to ensure a smooth transition from County Administration to Purchasing has made her a role model who embodies the concepts of teamwork and servant leadership. She serves our department exceptionally well and has been a wonderful addition over these last few months. She is the ‘safety net’ every department hopes to have. Her patience, confidence and strong communication skills have made her an asset to the county."

The Escambia County Board of County Commissioners commends and congratulates Tina on her selection as the July Employee of the Month.
