Escambia County is pleased to announce a successful start to the 2022 neighborhood cleanup schedule in District 4. Communities including Olive Road, Ferry Pass, Northpointe and North Davis have all participated in neighborhood cleanups, bringing in a total of over 96 tons of debris (192,000 pounds) collected throughout District 4.

The cleanup totals are as follows:

• Olive Road: 28.51 tons of debris; 101 tires; 760 pounds of household hazardous waste; and 34 gallons of paint.
• Ferry Pass: 11.04 tons of debris; 107 tires; 620 pounds of household hazardous waste; and 29 gallons of paint.
• Northpointe: 31.9 tons of debris; 32 tires; 1,620 pounds of household hazardous waste; and 107 gallons of paint.
• North Davis: 25.15 tons of debris; 181 tires; 2,520 pounds of household hazardous waste; and 163 gallons of paint.

“We are always looking for ways to improve the quality of life for our residents,” said Escambia County District 4 Commissioner Robert Bender. “By providing this service, we help keep homes cleared of debris and free of household waste that may be hazardous to the health of our residents. If you live within the boundary of a neighborhood cleanup, we strongly encourage you to participate.”

Future District 4 neighborhood cleanups for the remainder of the year include North Davis on Aug. 24, Ferry Pass on Aug. 31, Northpointe on Sept. 21 and Olive Road on Sept. 28, weather permitting. Residents who live within the boundaries of the neighborhood cleanup will receive a postcard in the mail with more information. During neighborhood cleanups, crew members and volunteers visit different neighborhoods in the county to remove a variety of debris and waste free of charge. Since 2016, more than 4,334 tons (8,668,000 pounds) of waste have been disposed of through neighborhood cleanups throughout Escambia County.
