Escambia County Fire Rescue-Station#2 Groundbreaking on Friday, May 6

18

Please join Escambia County Friday, May 6, at 11:30 a.m. for a groundbreaking ceremony at the new Escambia County Fire Rescue-Station #2, located at 6400 W. Nine Mile Road in Beulah.

The ceremony will be hosted by Escambia County District 1 Commissioner and Chairman Jeff Bergosh, along with Escambia County Fire Rescue.

A special dedication to two community families will also be made at the groundbreaking ceremony. Proclamations from the Board of County Commissioners will be presented honoring longtime Escambia County Fire Chief Steve McNair, who gave more than 50 years of service, and the family of the late Dwain S. Bradshaw, a former ECFR-Station #2 Chief, who died in the line of duty on Nov. 6, 2019.

“It will be my intention to dedicate the facility to two men and their families who have sacrificed so much over the years to this community and this station," said Commissioner Bergosh. "One of these individuals, Chief Dwain S. Bradshaw, sacrificed his life in the line of duty for the citizens of Escambia County. The other, Chief Steve McNair, gave over 50 years of service to the Beulah community and helped build the current Station #2. These two men each gave so much for their community, so it is my intention to honor both men with this facility, which I will ask the BCC to support as I bring a resolution to name this, our newest ECFR station, 'The Bradshaw-McNair Fire Station.'"

Escambia County Fire Rescue-Station #2, serving the Beulah community, operates as a combination of full-time and volunteer firefighters.
