Escambia County: ECFR Chief Dwain Bradshaw Honored During Firefighter Memorial

Bradshaw memorial

Escambia County issued the following announcement on November 23.

On Thursday, Nov. 18, members of Escambia County Fire Rescue gathered in Ocala, Fla to remember Escambia County Fire Rescue Assistant District Chief Dwain Bradshaw, who passed away in the line of duty on Nov. 6, 2019.

ECFR personnel joined family members of Chief Bradshaw during the Florida Fallen Firefighters Memorial at Florida State Fire College in Ocala. The ceremony recognizes the fire service members who paid the ultimate sacrifice, as well as their family members.

During the ceremony, each firefighter has their name added to the memorial of fallen firefighters. Honor guard members of numerous departments from around Florida participate in the ceremony to honor their fallen brother or sister.

This year, Lt. Joel Richardson, Lt. Nick Gradia, Deputy Chief Paul Williams, Capt. Matt Russ, Assistant District Chief Yoshimi Core, Lt. Scott Averill and Lt. Adam Edwards were in attendance of the ceremony. They joined Chief Bradshaw's family, which included his mother, Kathy, sister, Debbie, and his niece and nephew.

"Although it's been two years since Chief Bradshaw’s death, it still weighs heavy upon our hearts and minds," said ECFR Deputy Chief Paul Williams. "We will never be able to fill the gap resulting from his death, but we will always remember and honor his service to the country and community."
