Graduates earn 223 degrees, certificates from the Fortis Institute-Pensacola

About 86.6 percent of the 223 degrees and certificates handed out by the Fortis Institute-Pensacola in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private for-profit institution in Pensacola conferred 118 certificates and 75 associate's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in registered nursing/registered nurse. Data shows the school gave out 72 associate's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse, followed by 61 certificates in medical/clinical assistant and 40 certificates in dental assisting/assistant.

The institute enrolled 572 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
